Frequently Asked Questions

  1. How much are your kittens?
Kittens range in price depending on whether they are being sold as pets or sold to another Cattery's breeding program. Contact us to discuss your requirements.

  2. When can I have my kitten?
Ah, the question every new family is dying to know. We believe the longer the kittens stay with their mother, the better. Somewhere between the 12 and 14 week mark, providing they are well and happy, we will allow the kittens to go to their new home.

  3. Are your cats tested for disease?
YES! We use the Orivet Genetic Pet Care tests to check our breeding cats for problems such as Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy and Polycystic Kidney Disease. Please click here for an overview of these two conditions.

  4. Do your kittens visit a vet before they are in their forever home?
YES! Your kitten will have been seen by a veterinarian approximately 5 times prior to leaving our cattery here at Jipushi. You can rest assured they are well and happy when leaving for your home.

  5. Are your kittens desexed when they leave your cattery?
ABSOLUTELY! If you are purchasing your kitten as a pet they will be desexed prior to joining you. You may have questions regarding early desexing, see information here.

  6. Are your kittens vaccinated when they leave your cattery?
YES! Our kittens receive their first two vaccinations before they come to you. Consult with your vet regarding any additional and future vaccinations that will be required.

  7. Are your kittens microchipped?
YES! We ensure that each kitten is microchipped. It will have our details on the microchip until you take ownership of the kitten. We then add your details to the registry. We like to remain as a secondary contact on your kittens microchip, should anything ever happen to your cat we can assist in reuniting you.

  8. I have indoor plants, can I keep them if I'm getting a kitten?
The answer is YES, and NO.
Some plants are toxic to pets so it's best to do some research. We've put together some information to get you started here.
